Finals : Milou and Bernat claim the titles

Second seed Bernat Jaume won the final of the PSA Challenger in Bremen against the top seed Mahesh Magaonkar in straight games. The Spaniard gets hisfirst win over the Indian in their fifth encounter, and wins his fifth PSA title.

Dutch top seed Milou van der Heijden got the better of seventh seeded German Katerina Tycova, who beat two higher seeded players on her way to the final, in the women’s final in Bremen. She claims her 10th PSA title.

Semi-Finals : Tycova comeback thwarts top seed finals

In the first semi final match of the day second seed Tessa ter Sluis had the better start against Katerina Tycova and went two games up. But Tycova found her targets better, fought back into the match and won the decider for a 3-2 win, 9-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6.

Her opponent in the final will be top seed Milou van der Heijden  who got the better of third seed Cristina Gomez in four games, 12-10, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5 (37m).

The two top seeds will compete in the men’s final. Second seed Bernat Jaume beat Martin Svec ) in straight games and will meet top seed Mahesh Mangaonkar  in the final. Mangaonkar won in four games against the third seeded Colombian Juan Camilo Vargas 11-5, 8-11, 11-8, 11-5 (50m).

Quarter-Finals :

In the first quarter-final of the day Spain’s Cristina Gomez  got the better of Germany‘s National Champion Saskia Beinhard, 11-5, 11-9, 11-3 (26m). In the semi-final she will meet first seed Milou van der Heijden, who beat Klara Molleer in four games, 9-11, 11-4, 13-11, 12-10 (35m). Katerina Tycova took revenge for a defeat against Hannah Chukwu in Amsterdam 4 weeks ago. The German International won in four games, 8-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-5 (36m). In the semis she will face Dutch second seed Tessa ter Sluis , who won against Tamara Holzbauerová in four: 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, 11-2 (33m).

In the men’s draw top seed Mahesh Mangaonkar let a two game lead slip before beating Hungary’s Balazs Farkas.  Third seed Juan Camilo Vargas  beat Yannick Wilhelmi in straight games. Wilhelmi had the chance to win the third game but the Columbian forced a tie break and won 11-7, 11-3, 12-10 (42m). In a Czech only affair Martin Svec won clearly against compatriot Marek Panacek in three games 11-6, 11-4, 11-5 (33m). Svec will meet Bernat Jaume in the semis who overcame in the Spanish encounter Hugo Varela in three games, 11-3, 11-3, 11-8 (38m).
