Hong Kong shine in Korea

Team Hong Kong, China Shines at the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Championships with 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 5 Bronze Medals

The Hong Kong, China Junior Squash Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Championships, held in Gimcheon, South Korea, securing a total of one gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.

Last year’s GU17 silver medalist and this year’s top seed, Helen Tang faced the 2nd seed Harleein Tan of Malaysia in the final. Helen took the opening game 11-7, and Harleein tied by winning the second game 9-11. Helen adjusted quickly and regained momentum to win the next two games 11-9 and 11-7, sealing a 3-1 victory and claiming the gold medal.

In the GU19 final 2nd seed Cheung Tsz Ching, faced top seed Anahat Singh of India. Despite a valiant effort, Armona was defeated 0-3 (7-11, 2-11, 8-11), earning a well-deserved silver medal.

The team also collected five bronze medals in several categories, including BU15 Yuen Tsz Long, GU13 Yang Si Han, GU15 Chung Ka Yau, GU17 Lo Pui Yin Chloe and GU19 Kwong Ena.
