Final : Khagafy claims fourth PSA title

Third seed Malak Khagafy overcame compatriot Hay Ali to claim the fourth PSA title of her career.

Semis : It’s an all-Egyptian final in Lancaster

An Egyptian champion was assured in Lancaster as Egyptian duo Malak Khagafy and Haya Ali won through to the final.

Third seed Khagafy came from a game down to end the run of Ukraine’s unseeded Alina Bushma, while seventh seed Ali beat compatriot Menna Walid, also in four games.

Ukarine’s Alina Bushma sensationally beat top seed Jana Shiha in straight games for one of her best PSA results.

Elsewhere it was Egypt all the way as Malak Khagafy, Haya Ali and Menna Walid won through to the semis.

Round Two : Trio of upsets as quarter-finalists decided

Egyptian duo Menna Walid and Ingy Hammouda continued their runs with second successive upsets on Day Two in Hamilton, Walid overcoming fifth seed Nadia Pfister in four games while Hammouda stunned second seed Ineta Mackevica also in four games.

In the top half of the draw Ukraine’s Alina Bushma edged past eighth seed Rana Ismail in five to set up a meeting with another Egyptian, top seed Jana Shiha – each of the quarter-finals will feature at least one Egyptian.

Round One : Egyptian duo upset 9/16 seeds

The opening day of play at Franklin & Marshall College saw eight first round matches to determine who goes through to play the top eight seeds in round two.

Six of the matches went with seeding, with Egyptian duo Menna Walid and Ingy Hammouda taking out 9/16 seeds.

Top seed Jana Shiha meets Germany’s Katerina Tycova for a place in the quarters, while second seeded home favourite Ineta Mackevica meets Hammouda.
