Finals : Adderley and Malik claim the titles

We were treated to a great evening of squash.

Spoilt from the start. As like previous rounds Adderley started slowly but grew in confidence with every game. Having gone two one up against Beecroft you thought she might win in four but Lucy had over ideas finishing strongly to take it to five. However a few errors from both players meant it was tight with Georgia edging it in five.

Next one Soares started well finding his rhythm going one up. Malik had other ideas taking the second in convincing style. So it was shaping up nicely. Rui managed to regain his composure in a tight third before winning comfortably in the fourth.

A great week of squash. Well done to all that took part and a massive thank you to our sponsors for making the event happen.

Semis :

So the ladies went the way of the under dogs. Lucy Beecroft showing to much grit and determination mixed in with some quality against the emerging talent of Torrie Malik. Georgia Adderley proved to clinical after clinching the important second game having gone a game down against her Scotland teammate Alison Thomson.

The seeds had their say in the men’s with Curtis Malik showing some real class and quality on the ball forcing Mike Harris to force and make errors. Rui Soares proved too strong for Perry Malik who pushed him all the way in a tight hard fought four setter.

Round ONE :

All matches went the way of the seeds in the men’s, but there were three upsets in the ladies as
Katie wells came from two down to beat Sanne Veldkamp, a solid performance from Emilia Korhonen to knock out Katriona Allen 3-0, and a big upset from wildcard Lucy Beecroft as she took out fourth seed Faiza Zafar.
