Quarters :

The quarter final matches didn’t disappoint the crowd here at Greenwich Academy.

Top Seed Malak Khafagy who played sublime squash in the first two games against Jana Swaify was put to the test in the third game where Jana dug deep to claw back three match balls to eventually miss out on taking the match to a fourth game.

Caroline Fouts saw off compatriot Emma Trauber in three games. The girls who are team mates at this summer’s upcoming world junior championships in Australia showed that they are on track to play some top squash this year.

Number two seed Akanksha Salunkhe put an end to Madison Ho’s successful run in the tournament with a tight three game victory.

Performance of the day went to French player Julia Le Coq who played with speed and finesse of the highest order to see off tricky opponent from Japan Erisa Herring.

Round ONE :

An amazing start to The J.P Morgan LBSQUASH Summer Pro 2023! Matches commenced at 4:30pm on the courts here at Greenwich Academy and spectators were treated to some excellent displays of clean free flowing squash and amazing sportsmanship.

Match of the day came from Brazilian Bruna Marchesi and young US Squash star Ava Lin Jr who fought her way back from 2-0 down to take the Brazilian to the fifth game. Bruna held strong playing consistent squash in the decider to book herself a place in the next round against home court girl Caroline Fouts!

One to watch is Egyptian youngster Jana Swaify who beat hometown girl Charlotte Pastel in straight games with a very solid performance, she takes on exciting talent Riya Navani in the next round.

Tomorrow we welcome the top seeds lead by our number one seed Egyptian junior star Malak Khafagy accompanied by number two seed from India and Trinity Squash alum, Akanksha Salunkhe as well as aforementioned LBSQUASH’s very own Caroline Fouts the two time U19 national champion.

Matches begin tomorrow at 4:30pm and spectators from all communities are welcome and encouraged to come watch the Pro’s battle it out.
