I don’t like the idea. I might be the only one, but I have the right to state it.
I don’t think having only 2 players of each country allowed to play in the Olympics is the way to go. Not only it’s not fair for the countries that have been working extremely hard to be at the top of the tree, but more important, It’s penalising the best country in the World – surprise surprise – as in Egypt.
And now, what I feared is happening. Less successful countries are trying – and will succeed – to “recruit” new citizens..
Oh well. It’s not like my opinion matters, and as Debussy said to a snob Lady in a salon a few years ago, after she stated “that she couldn’t stand Wagner music”, “Madam, it is of no importance whatsoever”.
