Day Two : Lincou and Galova through to the final
BIt of a turning table for the young Kara Lincou – niece of – as it looked like she was out of the loop for this wildcard as Elise Romba had beaten her 3/2 and led quite comfortably in points. But as today, against all odds, Elise lost to Ninon Lemarchand, out of the race, 3/2, if Kara could win 3/0 against Rose Lucas-Marcuzzo, she would actually qualify!
And despite being 10/8 down in the 3rd, Kara stepped on it, and clinched the 3rd, 12/10.
So it’s a Ella Galova – winner of Lea Barbeau 3/1 in the other group – Kara Lincou final tomorrow…

I’m obviously very happy to have qualified for this final. It’s true that after yesterday’s defeat I had given up hope a little. I regretted not having tightened up my game when I was leading 2/1 and 7-5 in the 4th game against Élise. But I quickly pulled myself together and stayed positive.
And my efforts paid off, as I came out of it with one more game, which allowed me to play in the final against Ella tomorrow.
There’s no room for relief as there’s still a match to play, but what’s certain is that I’ve got another opportunity and I’m going to play my heart out in this last fight.

The first PSA Platinum event of 2023/24 PSA season will be the Paris Squash in August … but the women’s wildcard spot is being played for this weekend in Paris.
Eight players will compete in two groups, with the winners of each group playing off for the wildcard spot.
