Women’s $27k PSA Bronze, 04-08 Mar, Vancouver, Canada
Scotland’s Georgia Adderley claimed her sixth PSA Tour
She defeated No.2 seed Nardine Garas in straight games to win the Richardson Wealth Women’s Open over in Vancouver, Canada.
Adderley had shown terrific form all week, dropping only one game on route to the Copper event final, with opponent Garas doing the same. Adderley came through her semi-final in comfortable fashion, beating a weary Kiera Marshall in less than half an hour, whilst Garas was tested to the max as she edged past compatirot Menna Walid.
The 14-minute first game saw both players hit the ground running, playing excellent squash and not giving an inch on the scoreboard. It was Garas who managed to pull away to reach 10-8, holding two match balls. Adderley fought back to win four points in a row and snatch the first game 12-10.
Adderley was in control from then on, showing how strong she is and how difficult she can be to play against. She held a lead throughout the entirety of the second game, eventually winning 11-9 and then showed her grit once more to chase down Garas in game three to sneak ahead at the last second to win 11-8, resulting in a 3-0 win in just over half an hours play.
The title for the Scotswoman marks a sixth in her career and first since March 2024.
