Team Laura v Team Nick: Massaro’s lead passes 100 points
Team Laura have victory in their sights after more than doubling their lead to 102 points during week three of Team Laura vs Team Nick – the England Squash competition supported by SquashLevels.
Taking a 47 point lead into the contest’s third week, Laura Massaro’s squad now lead Team Nick by 404 matches to 302.
A huge 309 matches were played over the last week, bringing the total played to 706.
Team Laura have won 55% of the games played, moving the overall score to 1245-1013, but the winning margins remain small. For the third successive week, Team Laura have won 51% of the total points, triumphing in 22,688 points compared to Team Nick’s 21,542.
With 10 days remaining, Nick Matthew’s side have their work cut out if they want to claim the title for the wolfpack.
Lincolnshire wrestle back control of the county leaderboard
Lincolnshire have stormed back to the top of the county leaderboard after conceding the lead to Warwickshire last week.
The two counties have been trading top spot throughout the competition but after playing 70 matches over the last seven days, Lincolnshire (136) have reclaimed top spot and built a commanding 39-point lead over Warwickshire (97).
Hertfordshire (78) complete the top three after climbing from fifth to third whilst Essex (65) have put themselves into podium contention after jumping from eighth to fourth.
Kent (57) pipped Massaro’s Lancashire (56) to fifth by a single point, followed by Surrey, Cambridgeshire (replacing Northamptonshire), Staffordshire and Hampshire.
Dean Sports and Leisure top club standings
After spending two weeks in second place, Dean Sports and Leisure have finally reached the summit of the club standings.
The Lincolnshire-based club played an impressive 69 matches during the third week to top the table with 117 points. However, they can’t afford to get comfortable at the top as Bishop’s Stortford (108) lie just nine points behind in second place.
Last week’s table toppers, Leamington, sit third with 59 matches played whilst Poult Wood – the week one leaders – are fourth (46) and Wigan (33) are fifth.
