In the women’s final rou7nd of pool matches top seeds Malaysia and Hong Kong completed a full set of wins, and they’re joined in the semis by third seeds Japan and fifth seeds Korea who upset fourth-seeded India 3-0.

Day TWO : Down to the playoffs

Day Two saw the completion of the men’s Pool stages with the top two teams in each Pool progressing to the quarter-finals. In Pool C Singapore upset 7th seeds Sri Lanka to reach the playoffs, while in Pool D Japan’s day one win over 4th sees India sees them top the Pool.

In the women’s event the final round of Pool matches take place on Day Three with the top two in each Pool advancing to the semi-finals.

Day ONE :

It was a good opening day for the top seeds in Dalian – in the men’s event Malaysia and Hong Kong both recorded two 3-0 wins. Third seeds Pakistan also won twice, but fourth seeds India suffered an upset 3-0 defeat to Japan, the fifth seeds.

In the women’s matches top seeds Malaysia and Hong Kong both notched up two 3-0 wins, with 3rd-6th seeds India, Japan,. Korea and Sri Lanka also ending the day unbeaten.
