Bellevue Invitational Finals

Momen and Tayeb take the titles in Bellevue

Day FIVE: Tarek Momen claimed the men’s title as he beat Karim Abdel Gawad in straight games, with Paul Coll beating Diego Elias in the 3rd/4th match. Nour El Tayeb remained unbeaten in the women’s pool as she beat Amanda Sobhy, with Raneem El Welily beating  Camille Seems in five games to decide second and third places.

Day FOUR: Nour El Tayeb makes it three wins out of three as she beats Camille Serme in straight games to go to the top of the women’s pool. Both the men’s semi-finals went the way of the Egyptians as Tarek Momen beat Paul Coll in four games and Karim Abdel Gawad beat Diego Elias in three. Miguel Rodriguez beat James Willstrop for 5th place.

Day THREE: Second wins for Camille Serme and Nour El Tayeb, who overcame compatriot Raneem El Welily in four games, left the women’s pool wide open. Paul Coll wrapped up men’s Pool B as he put Karim Abdel Gawad into second place with a four games win, while Tarek Momen took second place in Pool A with a 3-1 win over James Willstrop.

Day TWO: Nour El Tayeb got her event under way with a won over Reeham Sedky, who retired injured in the closing stages of a tight second game, while Raneem El Welily made it two wins as she beat Amanda Sobhy in four.  Paul Coll opened his account with a four game win over Miguel Rodriguez, leaving the Colombian at the bottom of Pool B, while Diego Elias wrapped up Pool A with another win, this time 3-1 over James Willstrop.

Day ONE: The opening day saw world #1 Raneem El Welily despatch local favourite Reeham Sedky in the first women’s match, the France’s Camille Serme came from match ball down in the third to beat US number one Amanda Sobhy!  In the men’s matches Karim Abdel Gawad beat Miguel Rodriguez in four games, with Diego Elias getting the first win for the Americas as he beat Tarek Momen, also in four games.
