Hana Moataz Wins All-Egyptian Final To Claim Biggest Title Of Her Career
In the biggest squash event in Brazilian history, Egypt’s Hana Moataz defeated compatriot and top seed Nada Abbas to claim the CB Squash Tour Copper title in São Paulo.
Moataz made a strong start and quickly took control, winning the opening game 11-8. Abbas continued to push her opponent in the second, but Moataz held her nerve in the crucial points to take another 11-8 and move within one game of victory.
With the title in sight for Moataz, Abbas responded strongly in the third game and managed to get herself back into the contest, forcing the final into a fourth game.
Moataz, however, showed her composure when it mattered most. The Egyptian regrouped at the start of the fourth and regained control of the match, closing out the game 11-7 to seal the victory.
The triumph sees Moataz add another trophy to her collection and brings her career tally to six PSA titles, while Abbas was left to settle for the runner-up spot after a spirited challenge in the final.
