HKFC EVISU International Junior Open

Leung Ka Huen claims her first HKFC EVISU International Junior Squash Open title

Title sponsored by Hong Kong Football Club and Evisu Group Limited, organized by Squash Association of Hong Kong China, subvented by Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (Arts & Sport Development Fund), and supported by Leisure & Cultural Services Department and Watsons Water, the HKFC EVISU International Junior Squash Open 2023 finished today. All the champions of different categories had been finalized.

This championship is recognized as a “Satellite Tour” of the World Squash Federation & Professional Squash Association, and a “Platinum Event” of the Asian Squash Federation, consists of twelve categories, including Boys’ and Girls’ Under 19, 17, 15, 13, 11, and 9.

The final match at the Hong Kong Football Club today was played in front of a full house. In the girls’ under-19 final, the No. 1 seed, Hong Kong, China ‘s representative Leung Ka Huen, played against Au Ling Yu. Leung Ka Huen won in straight three games by 12-10, 11-7, 11-3, to claim her first ever Hong Kong Girls’ Under-19 Champion.

In the Boys’ Under-19’s final, No. 1 seed, Kim Kun from Korea defeated Hong Kong, China’s representative Tam Tsz Shing in 3 games by 11-5, 11-6, 11-3. In addition, number 1 seed, Hong Kong, China representative Ena Kwong won the Girls’ Under-17 title. She played against her teammate Cheung Tsz Ching in the final and fought hard until the deciding game with 11-9, 8-11, 11-7, 5-11, 16-14 to win. Also, Huang Sidney Victor, Lo Pui Yin Chloe, Wong Ho Kiu, Chung Ka Yau, Cho Nicholas Min-Suh, Luo Wan Hei , Hung Wai Chun won the Boys’ Under-15, Girls’ Under-15, Boys’ Under-13, Girls’ Under-13, Boys’ Under-11, Girls’ Under-11 and Boys’ Under-9 categories.

The prize presentation ceremony starts right after all the matches are finished. We are honoured to have the Honorable Duncan Chiu, Chairman of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, Mr. Cedric Tyen, Honorary Secretary of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, Mr. Teddy Pun, Juniors Chairman of Hong Kong Football Club Squash Session and representatives of EVISU Group Limited, and Mr. Chu Kin Wai Oscar, Assistant Leisure Manager I (Sports Funding) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to become our guest.
