Hong Kong’s Tam Tsz Shing and Cheung Tsz Ching take U19 titles at HKFC
Title sponsored by Hong Kong Football Club and Evisu Group Limited, organized by Squash Association of Hong Kong China, subvented by Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (Arts & Sport Development Fund), and supported by Leisure & Cultural Services Department and sanctioned by Asian Squash Federation as an Asian Junior Super Series “Platinum Event”, the HKFC EVISU International Junior Squash Open 2024 concluded after six days of intense competition.
This prestigious tournament featured 12 categories, showcasing the incredible talents of Boys and Girls under 19, 17, 15, 13, 11, and 9.
The finals held at the Hong Kong Football Club saw a full house. The Girls’ Under-19 final was a battle between two team Hong Kong, China representatives, with top seed Leung Ka Huen facing 3/4 seed Cheung Tsz Ching. Cheung Tsz Ching won the match in straight game by 11-6, 11-5, and 11-2, claiming the championship title. This victory follows her win at the Hong Kong Junior Squash Championships 2024 last month, marking a strong end to 2024.
In the Boys’Under-19 category, the final was a contest between two 3/4 seeds, with Tam Tsz Shing from Hong Kong, China going up against Kugan Hashvind from Malaysia. The match was closely contested and went to the deciding game. Ultimately, Tam Tsz Shing won by 11-3, 10-12, 11-5, 8-11, and 12-10, securing the Boys Under-19 championship title.
Meanwhile, other champions included Wong Sze Yu, Tang Helen, Yeung Tsung Chit Karson, Chung Ka Yau, Liu Yuanxi, Chiu Hau Ching, Leung Ngo San, Zheng Beverly Chen, Wu Yi Xing, and Jin Olivia, who
won in the Boys Under-17, Girls Under-17, Boys Under-15, Girls Under-15, Boys Under-13, Girls Under-13, Boys Under-11, Girls Under-11, Boys Under-9, and Girls Under-9 categories.
The prize presentation ceremony starts right after all the matches are finished.
