Meet the Player – Junior: Karolína Šrámková

WS: Two-time Czech National winner on hopes for World Juniors

18-year-old Karolína Šrámková from the Czech Republic has already become a two-time national champion. After securing her second women’s national title in 2025, Šrámková is looking to improve on her performance at last year’s World Juniors.

At the 2024 World Juniors in Cairo, Šrámková reached the final 32. She wants to see progress in Cairo at the World Juniors in July 2025.

“My goal is definitely to go further,” Šrámková said. “Of course, the level is very high, but I’ll focus on one match at a time and try to make the most of the opportunity.”

Coached by Jan Koukal who secured 18 Czech National titles during his playing career, Šrámková commented on how Koukal has supported the development of her squash play.

“I’ve been working with Jan Koukal for almost 10 years now, and I’m really grateful for everything he’s helped me with. He brings so much experience and insight into my game.

“He knows exactly what it takes, both mentally and physically, and I’ve learned a lot from his approach on and off the court.”

Practice in sport always makes progress. The young Czech player has experienced strong success so far in her playing career.

Šrámková won her first PSA Challenger title in February 2025 at the Brno Open where she defeated fellow Czech Michaela Cepová in four sets.
