“Squash is a physically and mentally gruelling sport.

Many elite players have an outwardly intense demeanour, but Orfi, while astonishingly competitive in her play, is a picture of calm inside the four glass walls.

Perhaps due to a combination of her age and talent, the prodigy takes the pressure of being one of the world’s top players in her stride, and exudes wisdom well beyond her years.

“I’m not always so calm inside, but on court I focus on one point at a time, and I think that helps me relax. Not focusing on the outcome of the match, the rankings, the points, and just embracing the moment.

“I’ve always been under the spotlight because I’m the number one under-19 player. I think that helped me when I came into the senior ranks. I feel like I produce my best squash under pressure. If it ever gets too much, I just speak to my family, and that helps.”
