Peru’s Diego Elias secured his fourth Pan American Senior Championship gold medal with a victory over Mexico’s Leonel Cerdenas, while Amanda Sobhy claimed the title for the third time with a strong victory over USA compatriot Marina Stefanoni on finals day in Asuncion, Paraguay.
Sobhy previously claimed the title in 2018 and 2019, while Elias was champion in 2018, 2023, and 2024.
In the doubles events it was a hat-trick for Colombia as Laura & Maria Tovar beat USA’s Caroline Fouts & Alexandra Jaffe to take the women’s title, Matias Knudsen & Juan Vargas beat Guatamala’s Alejandro Enriques & Josue Enriguez to the men’s Gold, while Ronald Palomino & Lucia Bautista beat Timmy Brownell and Marina Stefanoni for mixed gold.
