Fram reports
Two interesting interviews from the TeamUSSquash this week. They talked to both Sobhy Sisters, Amanda and Sabrina, about their upcoming season.
AMANDA : Pre-season ranking: No. 92

What are your goals going into this season after a difficult injury hiatus last year?
A main goal is, of course, to return to consistent competition pain-free.
If I can successfully get through the whole season without any more injuries, that would be a huge success. I definitely have a newfound appreciation and level of gratitude after a year of being unable to play and compete.
Another goal is to keep that mindset throughout the season.
It’s easy to forget what I’ve just been through and get caught up in the results, rankings and performances again. If I could stay consistent with having gratitude for being able to play pain-free, I will have a much more enjoyable and successful return to the tour.
I would love to compete with the top females again and challenge them on court. I feel I have all the skills to do so and now it’s just a matter of putting it all together in competitive matches again.

AMANDA: READY FOR TOP 5

Amanda Sobhy, 32, dubbed the 2024-2025 season as her “comeback” season following the second Achilles rupture of her career.
Sobhy, the only American to ever reach world No. 3, proved that she could return to top form over the course of the season, returning to the world’s top ten by the end of the year.
This season, Sobhy will be focused on peak performance and challenging the world’s best.
What are your goals going into this season?
My goals this season are to stay healthy, happy and injury-free, but also to challenge for a spot in the Top 5 again and get some wins versus the Top 5 and look to win some bigger events.
I had a great comeback season last year, but now I’m feeling confident in my movement and game and looking to assert myself back in the Top 5 again.
