Hania chats with Squash Player Nathan Clarke

Fram Reports

Funny how Nathan Clarke – Editor for SquashPlayer magazine and the most original/incredible photographer we have – and I have the same vision about reporting squash.

The way he relaxes the person behind the mic, even when asking tough questions, is never in a controversial or nasty way. His questions are respectful, and yet, you learn so much from the answers…

Love him to bits.

Hania… My little Hania… I remember the first time I saw her. I immediately had that “chair de poule”, gut feeling, I had a champion in the making in front of me. Wadi Degla Worlds….

Hania could do whatever she would like; she speaks three languages fluently, she is extremely well educated, gracious, intelligent, kind and respectful. She could be a model, as she is probably one of the most photogenic players on the Tour, if not the most…

Instead of a model, she chose to be a role model, an ambassador for our game. Like Ali Farag was. Oh I miss him so much…

Life made Hania change coaches, but I am adamant she would have made it to world number one no matter who was coaching her – no offence to anybody. She has that quality, that humility/respect doubled with talent and incredible hard-working ability that makes extraordinary champions.

Funny how, like Ramy was Mohamed ElShorbaby’s main reason to improve and fight, Nouran was Hania’s. Can’t wait to have Nouran on tour again next season me…

Still, “I was born to play squash”, Hania confesses in that interview. Merci mon Dieu…
