The 2023 Hong Kong Nationals take place from 23-28 October at Hong Kong Squash Centre.
Sat 28th : Lau and Lee claim the titles
The 6-day “Hong Kong Championships 2023 – Men’s & Women’s Championships” was wrapped up successfully at the Hong Kong Squash Center this afternoon.
In the 3/4 Playoffs, Women’s 3/4 seed Cheng Nga Ching Sara won the 5/8 seed Tsz Yee Lam Toby in straight games (11-8, 17-15, 12-10), while Men’s 3/4 seed Wong Chi Him beat 3/4 seed Tang Ming Hong by 3-0 (11-6, 11-4, retired) to capture his 2nd runner-up title.
The Women’s second seed Lee Ka Yi successfully upset top seed Ho Tze Lok Tomato by 3-1 (11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 11-9) to obtain her second Hong Kong Champion title after 2021, while the Men’s top seed, Lau Tsz Kwan Alex successfully eliminated the second seed, Leung Chi Hin Henry in straight three (11-9, 11-7, 11-7) to defend his title.
The Prize Presentation Ceremony was held after the Men’s Final. The Honorable Duncan Chiu, Chairman of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China gave a congratulatory speech and presented the prizes to all the Women’s and Men’s winners.

In the Women’s Quarter-finals, top seed Ho Tze Lok suppressed Wong Po Yui Kirstie in straight three, while second seed Lee Ka Yi eliminated Lam Po Ying in another three games. 3/4 seed Cheng Nga Ching Sara beat Kwong Ena by 3-2 to advance, and 5/8 seed Tse Yee Lam Toby upset 3/4 seed Fung Ching Hei Heylie in five to claim her spot in tomorrow’s Semis.
The top 4 Men’s seed all reserved their places in the Semi-finals. Top seed Lau Tsz Kwan Alex defeated To Wai Lok Oto by 3-1, while second seed Leung Chi Hin Henry won 5/8 seed Lam Yat Ting Harley in straight games. 3/4 seed Wong Chi Him knocked out 5/8 seed Chung Yat Long Leo 3-1. Besides, another 3/4 seed Tang Ming Hong entered the next round by winning 5/8 seed Lai Cheuk Nam Matthew in five games.
The Semi-finals will begin at 6:30 pm tomorrow. It will be free entry for live spectators from 6pm. All Main Draw Semi-finals will be live on our official YouTube channel.

Organized by Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, subvented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and supported by Watsons Water, the Men’s & Women’s Championships will be held from 23 to 28 October at Hong Kong Squash Centre.
Being the biggest local tournament, 67 top local squash players will gather to compete for the title. Alex Lau Tsz Kwan, Henry Leung Tsz Hin, Tang Ming Hong, Wong Chi Him, Matthew Lai Cheuk Nam, Leo Chung Yat Long will participate in the Men’s event, while Tomato Ho Tze Lok, Lee Ka Yi, Sara Cheng Nga Ching and Tse Yee Lam Toby will join the Women’s.
