Mexican second seed Leonel Cardenas claimed his tenth PSA title as he overcame USA’s Faraz Khan in one of the longest three-game matches ever recorded. Khan had beaten the top seed on his way to the final, but Cardenas proved one obstacle too far as the 21 year old world #57 prevailed in 83 minutes at the Life Time Club in Plano, Texas.

A busy opening day in Plano with two rounds of play. Botswana veteran Alister Walker and Colombian youngster Matias Knudsen both unseeded, upset the odd twice as they joined the top six seeds in the quarter-finals.

Views on Squash
Being born in London, England, Nicole grew up around the popular squash sport that was originated in that country. She has memories of her father and uncle playing at the local YMCA where her father was the director.
When she learned about the first ever professional squash tournament in Dallas, she was very excited being that she has very sentimental memories and family involvement in that sport growing up. She strongly feels that this tournament will sprout new interest in the sport among young athletes that crave new challenges and experiences.
