Linda and Laurent Elriani Big Changes!

Linda on FaceBook

“Laurent and I recently made the bitter/sweet decision that the time has come for the chapter in our lives to end at the Heights Casino and another chapter to begin in squash pastures new. Laurent, Jack and I have moved to Ardmore PA to continue our lives in the squash world.

Laurent is incredibly happy to be joining Alex Stait at Haverford school and Jack is ecstatic to be attending Haverford school in the fall!! He can’t wait to be playing on their squash team and taking advantage of all the amazing facilities there.

I am incredibly proud and happy to be joining the US Squash Team!!! I will be starting on August 22nd as the Senior Director of Professional Development and Programming. I’m so excited to be part of the future development of squash in US and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Arlen Specter Center soon!

From 2007…

Laurent and I joined The Heights Casino Team back in 2007, and in 2009 I became The Heights Casino Director of Squash. Jack came along in 2008 and he too has fallen in love with the game of squash as much as we have!

The last 15 years at the Heights Casino have been amazing and we have made so many wonderful friends and have thoroughly enjoyed coaching and mentoring so many fantastic children and adults.
Seeing so many juniors hitting their first squash balls and working with them so closely throughout their junior squash careers and sending dozens of juniors onto college to play squash, and beyond, has been so fun and rewarding on so many levels, along with the wonderful relationships we have formed with their parents too.

We are so proud of each and every one of them and we will miss all our juniors (and parents) deeply. We’ll be watching their progress from afar.

Being the tournament director and running the Carol Weymuller Open has been another highlight for me over the years, and watching and writing about all the truly inspiring women that have come to the Casino to try and win the prestigious title. I have wonderful memories of competing in the Weymuller myself, reaching the final three times in 1999, 2000 and 2004. This is what put Brooklyn Heights and The Heights Casino on the map for me and encouraged us to take the pros jobs back in 2007.
Also, being a key part of supporting CitySquash and other urban squash programs throughout the years has been tremendously important to us. Supporting diversity in squash and growing the sport has been and still are extremely important to us.
We have so many thanks to make that they can’t be done in this post, but please all know that each and every one of you have brightened our days in one way or another and we appreciate you. From our juniors, parents, adult players, Casino staff and of course my fellow squash professionals, we wish you all the very best and hope that many of you will keep in touch and remain part of our lives.
We had so much fun at our Farewell party at the Heights Casino celebrating our tenure at the Casino on May 31st. We have been so touched by everyone’s kind words and actions. We are also very proud and grateful to have been made honorary Heights Casino members and the honorary chair of the Carol Weymuller Open.
We had so many wonderful dinners, lunches, breakfasts and get togethers with friends recently in NY, before our trip to Europe. We love you all and will miss you all tons, but as we have said so many times recently ‘this is not the end of the book, this is just another chapter!’
We are back to Ardmore PA in August to start our new adventure!!! Hope you are all having a wonderful summer. Stay in touch and come visit us!
Love and hugs”
