Day TWO: mChukwu set to face top seed Villard in final

Hungarian teenager Hannah Chukwu – winner of the Berek Open earlier this month – continued her sensational run as she came from two games down to beat Spain’s Cristina Gomez in the semis.

The other semi-final was an all-French affair which saw top seed Enora Villard beat Marie Stephan in four games.

There were big upsets in the morning quarters as Gomes and  Chukwu took out the second and fifth seeds seeds, while in the bottom half of the draw Villard became the only one of the top four seeds to survive, with Stephan ensuring a French finalist, by beating third-seeded Swiss Open champion Cindy Merlo.

Preview: Mulhouse ready to host Open des Bretzels

Rescheduled from February due to COVID cases at the club, the Open de Bretzels is now under way at Espace Squash 3000 in Mulhouse.

France’s Enora Villard is top seed, and will be looking to go one better than her runner-up finish at the Swiss Open.

Enora faces a possible semi-final rematch with Swiss winner Cindy Merlo, while in the other half of the draw Latvian top seed Ineta Mackevica is expected to meet French-based Czech Anna Serme for a place in the final.
