Nottingham and Pontefract take 4-0 home wins to set up an enticing final round in the PSL Cup
The PSL Cup resumed with Round Four as PSL stalwarts Nottingham and White’s Travel Pontefract were at home against the two new teams for this season, Loughborough and Crawley.
At Nottingham University’s David Ross Sports Centre the home side romped to a 4-0 win, with Loughborough completing their first PSL season with a solitary point.
Madina Zafar beat Maia Pannell in straight games before taking up commentating duties on the (excellent) live stream, with Adam Auckland, Tinne Gilis and Owain Taylor completing the rout.
At Pontefract debutante Julianne Courtice got the the home team off to a great start, she and Max Lee beat siblings Torrie and Curtis Malik, both in straight games.
Hollie Noughton made sure of the win for the home side as she battled past Emily Whitlock in five games, and Patrick Rooney secured maximum points as he beat Joe Lee, coming from 4-9 down in the decider to win with an outrageous mishit.
Tonight’s results set up an intriguing final round on 24th May with the top four teams meeting – Crawley v Nottingham and Alba Storm v Pontefract – meeting to determine who will reach the final on 12th June.
