This week, seven former and one current Harvard squash student-athletes took the world stage at the 2024 World Squash Team Championships. Representing five different nations, Harvard squash athletes compete in the tournament.
Amanda Sobhy ’15, Marina Stefanoni ’23 and Caroline Fouts ’28 make up three of the four athletes representing the United States on the women’s side. Harvard has four representatives in total on the United State squad, as Timmy Brownell ’20 is competing on the men’s side during the tournament. The United States women are looking to take home the world championship after coming in as the runners-up in the 2022 tournament.
World No. 1 Ali Farag ’14 is looking to claim his fourth gold medal with the Egyptian team this week. Farag competed in the 2023, 2019 and 2017 games to help Egypt claim World Champion honors in all three tournaments.
Gina Kennedy ’20 – currently ranked No. 6 in the world rankings – represents England in the tournament for the first time in her career. Her former teammate, Hannah Craig ’21, also wears her nation’s colours for the first time in the tournament when she represents Ireland.
And to finish, Victor Crouin represents France and will be trying to get a podium with his teammates.
