Subvented by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Arts & Sports Development Fund,
supported by Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and titled sponsored by Kowloon Cricket Club, the five-day Kowloon Cricket Club PSA Challenge Cup 2025 completed successfully at Kowloon Cricket Club this evening.
Top seeded Hong Kong, China players Fung Ching Hei and Wong Chi Him won the men’s and women’s championships, both beating the second seeds in the finals.
The women’s final took place first, featuring Hong Kong, China’s top seed, Fung Ching Hei, against the second seed, Jana Swaify from Egypt. Fung Ching Hei won the first game 11-7, but Jana Swaify leveled the score by winning the second game with the same 11-7 scoreline. Fung showed resilience in the third game, narrowly winning 13-11, and then secured the fourth game 11-8, ultimately defeating her opponent 3-1 to claim the women’s title.
The men’s final followed, showcasing an all-Hong Kong showdown between the top seed, Wong Chi Him, and the second seed, Chung Yat Long.
Wong Tsz Him delivered a composed performance, winning the first two games 11-3 each. Despite Chung Yat Long’s efforts to fight back in the third game, he fell short with a 4-11 defeat. Wong Tsz Him clinched the men’s title with a 3-0 victory over his teammate.
Mr. Cedric Tyen, Honorary Secretary and the Chairman of Executive Committee of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China presented the awards along with Dr. Y.Y NG, JP, President of Kowloon Cricket Club and Ms. Doris Wong, Assistant Leisure Manager (Sports Funding) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department to all the winners.
