Access Courts has entered into a landmark partnership with US Squash and Squash Media & Marketing (SMM) – the commercial arm of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) – to expand the sport’s reach and accessibility.
Under this collaboration, US Squash will lead efforts within the United States, while SMM will manage marketing and sales worldwide outside the US.
Access Courts has developed a new generation of modular squash courts designed to remove traditional barriers of cost and infrastructure. Engineered for flexibility, speed of installation, and affordability, these courts can be placed in virtually any location – from urban parks and public spaces to schools, universities, private homes, hotels, resorts, gyms, and multi-sport facilities.
By opening up new markets for squash, Access Courts provides a scalable solution that can both expand grassroots participation and deliver exceptional playing experiences in non-traditional venues.
The innovation made its debut at the RacquetX conference in Miami earlier this year, where leaders across the racket sports industry identified Access Courts’ prototype as a game-changing step in facility design. Both the indoor and outdoor models have since been tested and enthusiastically received by players, coaches, and communities, confirming the courts’ ability to deliver high-quality experiences in a wide range of settings.
In May, an outdoor model was installed in Chicago’s Union Park as part of ‘Project Beacon,’ a joint initiative with the Squash United Foundation and US Squash. Launched on the eve of the PSA World Championships finals, the project provided a clear blueprint for how squash can be taken directly into neighbourhoods, breaking down access barriers and inspiring new generations of players.
“We believe that Access Courts’ modular glass courts will become a game-changer for squash,” said PSA Chief Executive Officer Alex Gough.
“Their flexibility and affordability unlock opportunities to bring the sport to new players and locations in ways that were previously unthinkable. This type of innovation is exactly what squash needs to accelerate its global growth.”
“Our mission is simple: to bring squash anywhere,” said Rik Zwikker, Founder of Access Courts.
“By making courts modular, affordable, and easy to install, we’re opening the door for a wide range of stakeholders to embrace the sport. The enthusiasm and positive feedback we’ve already received from players and organisations around the world confirm that squash has entered a new era of accessibility and growth.”
Kevin Klipstein, the CEO and President of US Squash added: “We think this innovation will completely change the risk profile of investing in squash, lowering barriers for entrepreneurs, coaches and educators by providing a way to develop squash centers quickly, for shorter terms, and with limited infrastructure costs. Both the indoor and outdoor models also give pickleball and padel facilities a turnkey way to include squash in the mix.”
The first commercial indoor installation is expected in the fourth quarter of this year at Sol Squash in Miami.
With squash set to make its Olympic debut at the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 (LA28), the partnership with Access Court fits seamlessly in the strategy of World Squash, US Squash and the PSA to ensure the sport is positioned for long-term success.
By combining cutting-edge engineering with a mission to expand accessibility across a wide range of markets, the new indoor and outdoor courts are creating the conditions for squash to reach new players worldwide.
