Calgary Women’s Squash Week 2026: It’s Sabrina!

Women’s $26k PSA Copper, 11-15 Mar, Calgary, Canada

Final
[2] Sabrina Sobhy (USA) 3-0 [3] Nardine Garas (EGY)  12-10, 11-4, 13-11 (33m)

USA’s Sabrina Sobhy continued her good form since returning to the PSA Squash Tour this season yesterday as she claimed the Calgary CFO Consulting Services Women’s Squash Week 2026 title, beating Egypt’s Nardine Garas in the Copper event final.

No.2 seed Sobhy reached the final in dramatic fashion, recovering from 0-2 down to beat up-and-coming Egyptian Jana Swaify. Sobhy continued her momentum into the final, desperate to claim a second title of the season. Garas inflicted her revenge on Scotland’s Georgia Adderley to reach the final. Garas lost to Adderley in the final of the recent Richardson Wealth Women’s Open but produced a quality performance to reverse the result and claim a place in the final.

Sobhy found herself 9-7 down in the opening game but showed her resilience once again, fighting back to eventually take it 12-10 and draw first blood in the contest. The confidence gained by Sobhy partnered with the disappointment for Garas after game one was evident in the following game, Garas struggled to make any ground in the game as the American continued her high intensity style, forcing multiple errors from the racket of the No.3 seed. 2-0 to Sobhy, 11-4.

Now leading 2-0, Sobhy looked to have a firm grip on the trophy as she ran out to a 4-1 lead in the third game. Garas fought back, however and showed that she wasn’t going to go down without a fight. The Egyptian won eight of the next ten points to lead 9-6, looking sure to be pulling a game back to breathe more life in the final. Sobhy found more in the latter stages once again and rattled off four points in a row to earn a championship ball. Despite Garas then holding a game ball herself at 11-10, Sobhy recovered again to convert the match at the second time of asking, winning 13-11.

The win for Sobhy marks a seventh career title for the 29-year-old and joint biggest of her career.
