Final : Maiden PSA title for Elenein in Bremen

Egypt’s third seed Aly Abou Eleinen claimed the Bremer Schlüssel 2022 title –  his first PSA tournament win – the 22-year-old U.S. based Egyptian ending the run of unseeded Czech Viktor Byrtus in straight games.

Semis : Byrtus and Eleinen through to final

Viktor Byrtus was the first player through of the Bremer Schlüssel 2022, after he beat in home favourite Yannik Omlor in straight games  The European Junior Champion 2019 reaches his biggest PSA final so far.

Byrtus will meet Aly Abou Eleinen in the final-match of the PSA Challenger. The 22-year-old beat his fellow Egyptian Mazen Gamal in straight games.. This will be the their first encounter.

The final in Bremen will start on Friday, at 13:00 – right before the first semi-final of the German Team Championship 2022, the Bundesliga-Finals.

Quarters : Omlor keeps home hopes alive

The last German in the Bremer Schlüssel, in the ULC Sportwerk in Bremen, Yannik Omlor (WRL 100) won against 4th seed Balazs Farkas (HUN, WRL 70) in four games. In the semis he will meet Viktor Byrtus (CZE, 144) who had the better of James Peach (ENG, WRL 123) in straight games.

The other semi-final will be an all-Egyptian affair after second seed Mazen Gamal (EGY, WRL 54), who best Andres Herrera (COL) in four games and third seed Aly Abou Eleinen (EGY) beat Stuart Macgregor (ENG) in straight games.

Day Two : Jaume out – Gamal survives five game thriller

On day two of the Bremer Schlüssel in the ULC Sportwelt Bremen the eight top seeded came into action. In the first match of the day Yannik Omlor (Worms, WRL 100) played David Zeman (CZE, WRL 174). The two fought hard, the German made the big points and finally won in straight games. He now will meet fourth-seeded Balazs Farkas (HUN, WRL 70), who won an attractive match against Yuri Farneti (ITA, WRL 140), in quarter-finals

In the afternoon the three top seeded played their starting matches. Third-seeded Aly Abou Eleinen (EGY, WRL 63) won against Elliott Morris (WAL, WRL 156) in three games. Then the top-seeded defending champion Bernat Jaume (ESP, WRL 50) played Viktor Byrtus (CZE, WRL 144). The 21-year-old Byrtus won 3-1 for a big upset.

Secondnd seed Mazen Gamal faced Germany’s Valentin Rapp in the last match of the day. The 36-year-old Egyptian won an exciting five gamer and will meet Andres Herrera (COL) in the quarter-finals.
