Squash in London ? The Classic is back !!!

The London Squash Classic 2024 will be played at the world-famous Alexandra Palace and will feature both a men’s and women’s draw for the first time.

The Gold-level event, which will take place from March 27th to 1st April 2024, replaces the iconic Canary Wharf Classic on the 2023-24 PSA World Tour calendar.

Proposed refurbishments to the East Wintergarden venue – where the Canary Wharf Classic has been held over the last two decades – have meant the setting will no longer be able to accommodate a squash court and seating.

Instead, the London Squash Classic will be held at the renowned entertainment and sports venue, Alexandra Palace, which has also hosted other notable events such as the PDC World Darts Championships.

Since its launch in 2004, the Canary Wharf Classic became one of the most highly-anticipated tournaments on the PSA World Tour calendar, with the title being held aloft by World Champions such as Mohamed ElShorbagy and Nick Matthew, as well as former World No.1 James Willstrop.

Last year New Zealand’s Paul Coll took the honours at the London-based event after defeating Welshman Joel Makin in the final.

Tickets for the brand-new event will go on sale on Monday 6th November – register your interest here, while all action will be available to watch live on SQUASHTV.
