Hong Kong Squash is proud and pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr. Peter Genever as the Head Squash Coach position of Hong Kong Squash and Hong Kong Sports Institute effective from 15 September 2020.
Coach Genever is well-known for his impression with Team Malaysia as national head coach after seven glorious years.
The Englishman played a crucial part in leading Team Malaysia to an elite level including the winning of Men’s team gold, Women’s singles gold and silver at the Asian Games 2018, and guided the Malaysian Women’s Team to their highest position of runner up in the WSF Women’s World Team Championship 2014, marking down these notable triumphs on his coaching résumé.
He has also developed a numerous world-class squash player including former world ranked No. 12, Tom Richards and former No. 1 Malaysian, Nafiizwan Adnan. His highest world ranking was No. 23 during his playing career.
On his new announcement of Head Coach, Genever said :
“It’s a real honour to be given this opportunity with Hong Kong Squash and the Hong Kong Sports Institute.
“I am really looking forward to the challenge of continuing the many successes in Asia and Internationally while also helping to develop the next generation of elite players for Hong Kong.”
